The BVRLA continues to call for members to write to their MPs about the ill-timed proposal of e-VED (pay per mile). eVED is the wrong tax at the wrong time and could be the leaden weight that breaks the back of the transition.
The transition to EVs remains fragile, with the latter years in the transition targeting steeper increases in EV adoption than the years they follow. The UK's ZEV Mandate on manufacturers is one of the most ambitious in the world, yet the fundamentals underpinning the financial viability of meeting its targets are not yet sustainable.
Members are urged to write to their MP: Find your MP – Tell them about EV pay-per-mile — BVRLA.
Members are also invited to attend the Industry and Parliament Trust’s parliamentary training course on Monday 26 January. The course runs from 08:30 to 15:00 in the Houses of Parliament. Delegates will learn how Parliament functions and how to engage with MPs and Peers to voice the needs of the industry. They will also be given a tour of the Houses of Parliament.
